First of all we would like to pay your attention that all these time our web site was being update on regular bases. First - we improved our proxy engine several times. Second - we improved the way our engine finds new proxies and etc. Here is the most noticeable updates:

• We display city name next to each proxy as well as full country name
• We improved the way of information of how the last proxy check time is displayed
• We removed captcha from index page, so you can easier access proxys

BTW we also developed several private proxy services for professional web masters and companies. Check this web site: golden-proxy.com! With just 25 proxies you can easily make 100.000 requests to any domain without even be blacklisted. That's true because we have developed custom and very unique proxy engine.

The sites engine was upgraded up to version 4.0. The new engine has lots of advantages and innovations:
• Proxies are being checked in new style 30 threads on the separated server and only after that they are being added to the list of working proxies on the site proxy-list .org.
• All proxies like CoDeeN’s (who keeps user’s surfing history) were removed from our DB.
• The “max. timeout” for each proxy was reduced from 30 sec. to as less as 5 sec.! As a result the surfing speed will be much higher.
• Each proxy is being checked not only for simple 5 sec. response but as well for ability to receive 1024 bites of junk data (to check connection’s error factor). As a result the proxies will be quicker.
• All proxies are checked for POST and GET methods support.
• “Proxy List” will be updated every 2 minutes instead of 10 (that does not mean you should request site more often than that ;)).
• The oldest proxy in our list is only ~10 minutes age, in other words it was checked just 10 min. ago!
• We don’t keep old proxies in out DB any more. Based on our past experience the checking engine wastes lots of time on dead proxies’ checking. Instead of that we update whole DB with fresh ones very often.
• There is great innovations for regular surfers. Since many users use our proxies for download accelerators, which cause proxies’ high load, we made a decision to remove quickest 20 proxies from that lists (of course they will be still other 80 proxies, quick enough for downloading). These proxies will be accessible only from web interface (after entering captcha code as earlier) and so, only for regular surfers. We think that it will be fear enough.
• We moved web site to new hosting which is much stable and quicker. We hope that Proxy-List.org will be accessible at any time. Furthermore, we have future planes to launch out new “Proxy to Mail” feature, so all our users will receive fresh proxies to their mailbox daily for FREE.

• Country IP database was updated with January 2007.
• Due to SSL (HTTPS) checking engine improvements it was disabled for some time, now it is enabled.
• The error was fixed in proxy filter, incorrect calculation of working proxies amount.

Two great new features added:
• Based on our latest stats most of our users download full list of proxies. So we made a decision to allow them easily download one full list instead of some small ones.
• Some users ask to allow them filter proxies which support SSL (HTTPS). Congratulations we have added this option as well

• Could not download proxy list (will be an empty file) filtered by Proxy type “Elite+Anonymous”.
• Could not download proxy list (will be an empty file) filtered by Proxy port “Standard”.
• Proxy filter engine did not work with parameter “Proxy port”.

The following two new options were added:
• Standard port types, which includes filtering proxies by 3 most wide spread ports, namely 80, 3128, 8080.
• Now it become possible to choose anonymous and elite proxies from list at the same time. You will need only to choose“Anonymous + Elite” option from Proxy type field.

• Now it is possible to download proxy list in *.txt format. All “List#” links link to files equal to “Page#” content. So instead of browsing each page it is possible to simply click on “List#” and download them in *.txt format.

• New proxy option “SSL” was added. There are three possible states: “Y”, “N” or “?” that means: proxies support/doesn’t support SSL connection, or it hasn't been checked yet. All working proxies are being checked for “SSL” support every hour.

• New engine v 3.0 was created. It is the first time when all “threads” are under control. That means that it is possible to set max simultaneously working “threads” and max possible used by them ram size. Shortly it is possible to control power of checking engine. It allows to use all possible resources of web server.
• About 4000 new proxies were added to database.

• New script ‘Proxy Extractor’ was added. This scrip allow user to extract proxies form txt, html file or from web page. Result is printed in very friendly format.

• New proxies’ type “Elite” was added to “Proxy type”.
• Description of all type of proxies: transparent, anonymous and elite was added.

• New option was added to site. Now it is possible to search proxy according: port, type and country.

• The site was moved to new engineer. According new technology proxies will be checked by two different checking scripts instead of one.
  Script 1 will check all live proxies every 10 minutes as it was done before.
  Script 2 will check 1000-2000 dead proxies every 5 minutes (they will be chosen according their quality, which was calculated by special formula).
  The reason of checking dead proxies is simple; according our stats there is high probability that some proxies will come alive after some time. By simple calculation we have: 12.000-24.000 checked dead proxies every hour.
  
• 2900 new proxies were added to database.
  
• Because of huge amount of working proxies (400) they will be outputted 40 proxies per page.

• The problem with hanging up wet site for 30 seconds every 10 minutes during checking process was solved by transferring proxy checking script to different domain.
